As Director of African Initiatives, Charles Nimako manages the Accra-based team and oversees all of Safe Water Network’s field programs, forums, and workshops in Ghana, and coordinates our work with partners in the public and private sectors.
Charles’s ability to engage key water-sector stakeholders throughout Ghana is due in part to his experience as CEO of the PepsiCo bottler in Ghana. While there, he led the design and implementation of strategic plans for production, marketing, and nationwide distribution of PepsiCo beverages. He also managed the successful entry of the company into Ghana’s bottled water segment.
Charles was a consultant for McKinsey & Company in South Africa, where he helped both private and public sector organizations take advantage of the changing political and business landscape.
Charles attended Claremont McKenna College in California, and earned an MBA from Stanford University. Charles has worked in the United States, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Angola, and Ghana.
