TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE: TRAINING

Drawing upon our extensive field implementation experience dating back to 2009, Safe Water Network has developed a comprehensive array of training programs designed to accelerate impact in water management and access. By sharing our knowledge and carefully packaging it for practical application, we empower government agencies and other implementers to quickly and effectively apply this knowledge in the field, driving tangible improvements. Our training is offered in various formats, including on-site classroom sessions, webinars, pre-packaged modules, toolkits, on-demand videos, workbooks, and instructional posters. These materials are regularly updated to ensure they remain relevant and effective.

Solar-Powered Water Systems (SPWS) Training

Safe Water Network is collaborating with the Global Water Center (GWC) to train the Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Department (RDWSD) of Karnataka on solar-powered water systems (SPWS). This initiative includes the establishment of two SPWS demonstration sites. SWN has carefully tailored the training content to meet local needs, and we continue to support the project through close coordination with RDWSD, active participant engagement, and oversight of the demonstration sites’ progress.

Other Technical Assistance Training Programs

We provide support to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in implementing the AMRUT 2.0 program.

We aid the Government of Karnataka in operationalizing their 18,000 water stations, reaching 40 million people.

Participants and Program Details for India:

  • Number of master trainers trained: 20 RDWSD engineers
  • Total trainees: 400-500 GoK officials
  • Training of Master Facilitators began: July 2023
  • Current status: Ongoing

MEET ONE OF OUR TRAINERS: SIDDHI MOHTA

Siddhi Mohta, Senior Program Associate, is a core team member of Safe Water Network India’s Advisory Support Unit to the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs.

She has conducted several in-person and online training programs on water quality management systems for Urban Local Body officials with over 100 participants from seven states. This includes a two-day workshop on Water Body Rejuvenation at the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras with 40 participants from 11 states in India.

Siddhi also hosted a workshop on achieving water-secure cities through effective groundwater management with the National Institute for Urban Affairs (NIUA) for 177 participants from over 80 ULBs as part of the organization’s monitoring guidance under the AMRUT 2.0 Operational Guidelines in India.
