Christina A. Gold Joins The Safe Water Network Board

Safe Water Network is pleased to announce the appointment of Christina Gold, retired President and Chief Executive Officer of The Western Union Company, to its Board of Directors.

From September 2006 to September 2010, Mrs. Gold served as Director of The Western Union Company. She also served as President of Western Union Financial Services, Inc. and as Senior Executive Vice President of Western Union’s parent company, First Data Corporation.

Mrs. Gold was recognized in 2003, 2006 and 2008 by Fortune magazine as one of America’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business and by Forbes magazine on its “100 Most Powerful Women.” BusinessWeek also named her as one of the Top 25 U.S. managers in 1996. Since 1997, she has served as an Independent Director of the ITT Corporation and, since 2001, as a Director of New York Life Insurance. 

Previously she served as a Director of Torstar Corporation, a broad-based Canadian media company. Mrs. Gold is a graduate of Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada.
