In the 2021 Ghana Beyond the Pipe Forum, sector leaders along with community members and stakeholders discussed the ways the Ghana water sector can address the financial gaps that hinder people from accessing safe and affordable water.
Charles Nimako, Safe Water Network’s Director for Africa Initiatives, opened the session highlighting the importance of the Forum as a platform for sharing the latest evidence and work for delivering safely managed water at an affordable price and in line with SDG 6.
Joseph Ampadu-Boakye, Head of Partnerships and Business Development, showcased the work that Safe Water Network has achieved in Ghana to quantify the full costs of delivering safe water and optimize stations to improve financial sustainability. He shared a 5-year growth plan to expand access to safe water nationally and improve the financial sustainability of Safe Water Network’s community water stations.
