Expanding Safe Water Access in Schools Through DuPont India Partnership
Safe Water Network India, in partnership with DuPont India, has expanded access to safe drinking water for students through the installation of new water purification systems at three government schools—two in Gurugram and one in Hyderabad.

Inauguration of the Government Senior Secondary School, Molahera, Gurugram by, and Mr. Vishal Dhawan, Logistin Leader, DuPont India, along with the school Principal, Mr. Ashish Dahiya, and Poonam Sewak, VP Safe Water Network India, NGO partner.
The initiative will provide reliable access to clean drinking water for approximately 4,000 students and school staff during the 2025–26 academic year, supporting improved health, attendance, and learning outcomes.
The installations build on a sustained collaboration between DuPont India and Safe Water Network focused on strengthening water, sanitation, and hygiene access in schools. Together, the partners are demonstrating how targeted, on-campus infrastructure can deliver immediate and lasting benefits for students.
Each school has been equipped with two water treatment units, each producing 200 liters of purified water per hour, supported by 500-liter storage capacity. The systems ensure a consistent, dependable supply of safe drinking water throughout the school day.

The program also integrates hygiene education, with students participating in activities and demonstrations focused on handwashing, personal hygiene, and the importance of safe water—reinforcing behavior change alongside infrastructure investment.
Recent efforts under this partnership have included additional school installations in Hyderabad, as well as investments in sanitation infrastructure such as functional toilets and dining facilities. Together, these initiatives reflect a shared commitment to practical, scalable solutions that improve student well-being and strengthen educational environments.

“Access to clean drinking water is fundamental to student health and learning. We are pleased to support schools with systems that provide a dependable supply of safe water, helping students stay healthy, focused, and ready to learn.”
