Stone Family Foundation Funds Household Connection Program In Ghana
The Stone Family Foundation has pledged grants totaling $1.6 million (over three years) to support our household connection (HHC) program in Ghana. In addition, Safe Water Network has secured an additional £200,000 for these efforts in a one-year grant from a U.K.-based organization. The HHC program focuses on generating demand for HHCs, as well as supporting the increased capacity to satisfy that demand. This funding will dramatically expand our HHCs, equip a new station in Nobewam with the maximum number of HHCs (400), and retrofit three other stations with a total of 300 HHCs. HHCs are critical to sustainable water supply, as households purchase four times more water than consumers at kiosks.
