India’s largest power plant equipment and manufacturing, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a Maharatna Company of the Government of India, is helping Safe Water Network provide safe water access to rural communities in Maharashtra, India’s second most populous state, located in the western region of the country. This grant supports our overall expansion program in India, where we are building upon our local success with a series of initiatives to scale our approach across the country to areas in need of safe water.

BHEL is an integrated power plant equipment manufacturer established in 1964 as a public sector entity of the Government of India. It is the country’s largest engineering and manufacturing company of its kind, and is engaged in the design, engineering, manufacture, construction, testing, commissioning and servicing of a wide range of power equipment. BHEL caters to the needs of core sectors of the Indian Economy including: Power Generation and Transmission, Industry, Transportation, Renewable Energy, and Defense.
