Honeywell, a Fortune 100 diversified technology and manufacturing leader, is sponsoring 100 iJal safe water stations in Telangana through 2018—serving approximately 300,000 people. This initiative addresses a critical need in India, where 100 million people live in areas of poor water quality. The state of Telangana is ranked second in the country for issues pertaining to drinking water. Water- and sanitation-related illnesses (such as fluorosis) account for more than 70 percent of diseases in this region.

Honeywell Hometown Solutions (HHS), the company's corporate citizenship initiative, is committed to improving the world we live in by creating, supporting and nurturing programs that make a real, sustainable, and measurable impact in communities it serves.

HHS offers programming, provides resources and financial support, and encourages employee volunteerism in five critical areas: science and math education, family safety and security, sustainability, and humanitarian relief.

Support Summary

Honeywell’s support has been critical in achieving Safe Water Network’s objective of a sustainable cluster of small water enterprises in Telangana. As we expand our footprint, we are able to demonstrate at credible scale the sustainability of our model, while improving access to affordable, safe water in water quality affected communities.

“This is one of our flagship corporate social responsibility programs that is bringing about a sea change in the health, productivity, and livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of people.”
