An Impact Assessment of Safe Water Interventions in 154 Communities in Telangana State

By: Safe Water Network

Safe Water Network (SWN) performed an impact assessment in June 2019 to determine the results of the implementation of Water ATMs at iJal Stations that were established with a Honeywell Hometown Solutions (HHS) grant. Understanding the perception around iJal was essential to improve model sustainability and to predict consumer trends.

Women Entrepreneurs and Leadership

After determining the success of the project, the next step was to implement models that encouraged women entrepreneurship or Women Self Help Group participation in iJal operations. The iJal project has brought water access to more than 500,000 people in the region, and SWN seeks to increase the capacity to provide access to more communities. The practices that were developed from this study have been successfully replicated in the state of Maharashtra.
