Assessment of a Simple, Cost-Effective Method to Test for Fecal and Environmental Contamination of Water Supplies

Safe Water Network typically relies on a third-party laboratory for microbial parameters testing; however, this report explores the financial benefits of ground-tested methods for microbial testing onsite. Using Aquagenx rapid microbial kits, Safe Water Network’s Ghana team experimented and analyzed water samples for coliform and E.Coli at various safe water stations.   

The Assessment of a Simple, Cost-Effective Method to Test for Fecal and Environmental Contamination of Water Supplies concludes that the Aquagenx rapid microbial kits are accurate and serve as a valuable tool in providing safe drinking water. The Assessment also projects that if the test kits were implemented in place of external testing, it would save over 70 percent.
