Ravindra "Ravi" Sewak has led Safe Water Network’s activities in India since operations commenced in 2009. Known for his hands-on expertise in water operations, green energy, wastewater, bulk-water processing, and vending-machine point-of-use purification systems, Ravi has spent more than 25 years in the private sector. Ravi’s experience has proven invaluable in the oversight of Safe Water Network’s growth and the development of standards and systems that support the scaling of the approach. Drawing upon his proficiency in engineering and management, Ravi guides the development of business and operational protocols, training programs, and management systems to enable cost-effective replication.
Prior to joining Safe Water Network, Ravi served as Sustainability Director at PepsiCo India, where he reduced plant water consumption annually by more than 2.6 billion liters across 34 plants nationwide.
Ravi earned a post-graduate degree in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and has served as a mentor at the Legatum Center at MIT and Santa Clara University. He is a member of: the Bureau of Indian Standards (FAD 14) for water and beverages; the Water Purification System Sectional Committee (MHD 22); and national water committees for both the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce (FICCI) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
