Safe Water Network partnered with Modern Architects of Rural India to introduce a market-based model to 55 Safe Water Stations. “Team iJal” is a collaborative partnership consisting of community leaders, government authorities, and specialists with the mission of addressing challenges through a joint approach. This collaboration reinforced the idea that compatibility between social justice and a market-based water supply is possible. Through respectful collaboration, SWN and MARI have readapted their standard operating models and have delivered 40 million liters of water to over 200,000 people in a year. According to MARI, “the beauty of this partnership and secret of success lies in the conscious strategy adopted to converge the skills and experience of community mobilization and marketing.”
Branding “Team iJal”
Safe water Netwrok and MARI together created the “Team iJal” Safe Water Station model. All stations, containers and promotional activities in the Warangal District are branded with the iJal logo. “Team iJal” has become a point of pride for the communities and has seen a surge in men participating in water collection and water station operation.
