Har Ghar Jal by 2030: Current Status and Next Steps

By: Safe Water Network

This report is an assessment of the Strategic Plan 2011-2022 for rural drinking water, which helps operationalize the National Rural Drinking Water Program by setting goals, objectives, and strategic initiatives for the sector.

This report puts forth a framework and policy guidelines to help achieve “Har Ghar Jal” (water for every home) by 2030, and address emerging issues by shifting the country’s heavy dependency on groundwater sources to surface water, improving service delivery standards, and encouraging a paradigm shift towards metered, household piped water connections for all.
